LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) — Amanda Bothwell, 26, was arrested in a hit and run case after allegedly running over the man who was trying to repossess her vehicle’s tires and rims.
Lincoln Police arrested her early Thursday morning.
Officers were called to 27th and Vine shortly after midnight to investigate a report of an injured pedestrian. That’s where they found the victim, a 33-year-old man, who told officers he was trying to repossess the property because Bothwell had not made a payment since April.
He told investigators that he explained his actions to Bothwell, who also goes by the name Amanda Molby.
The victim told officers that as he crouched down to remove a tire, Bothwell put the vehicle in reverse and ran over his legs as he yelled for her to stop. She left the scene where authorities found the victim with abrasions on his legs.
Police interviewed witnesses and Bothwell was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.
