Weekend Blotter – Female Agent Assaulted
Pennsylvania – Police were called just after 10:30 p.m. to 1390 Orchard Lane after the licensed agents from VJ Wood Towing, Recovery and Repair were violently interrupted in their attempt to take a vehicle that was in the driveway of the home, police said.
As the male agent was removing a car from the truck to make room for the other vehicle, the other agent went to verify the VIN, police said. She was confronted by a female who tried to push past her and lock the doors of the vehicle, police said.
Then vehicle owner Andrew L. Bauman, 44, of Orchard Lane, grabbed the agent by her jacket and threw her to the ground, injuring her right arm, police said.
Bauman and the person who tried to lock the doors then got in the vehicle and Bauman drove west on Orchard toward Airport Road, police said. Officers subsequently couldn’t find the vehicle or Bauman, police said.
The female agent gave police a written statement and her injuries were documented, police said.
Bauman will be charged in district court with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, criminal mischief, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without proof of insurance, police said. Charges were not in the docket as of early Monday afternoon.
