Fla. Woman Waves Gun On Agents & Kicks Gun Out Of Cops Hand

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Lacey Tané Brown, 30, of Hampton, was arrested yesterday after allegedly waving a gun at two men who were repossessing her car and then kicking a police officer.
At about 1:40 p.m. on December 14, two men who were repossessing Brown’s car at her workplace called 911 and said that the car was already connected to the tow vehicle when Brown tried to push one of the men out of the car and then pulled out a gun and started waving it in the direction of both men.
A Gainesville Police Department officer responded with his gun drawn and told her to get out of her car, but Brown allegedly refused, continued to be “highly confrontational,” and kept her hand hidden. The officer started to place his gun in its holster, and Brown allegedly kicked his hand and gun against the car door, causing him to drop his gun. The officer quickly grabbed Brown, removed her from the vehicle, and placed her under arrest.
The incident was reportedly captured on video, including video of Brown waving the gun around. The officer reported that Brown’s friends started removing items from the car while he was arresting Brown, and no gun was found, although Brown reportedly said it should be in the hidden compartment shown in the video.
Brown has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a police officer. She has no criminal history, and Judge Jonathan Ramsey ordered her held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold her without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.
