Repo Agency & Credit Union Dismissed From RO Shot By Cop Lawsuit
A federal lawsuit against three officers, the City of Decatur, a repossession company and a credit union connected to the officer-involved shooting death of Steven Perkins has been dismissed.
United States District Judge Corey Maze dismissed the lawsuit against the officers who did not fire shots and the tow truck company involved.
The lawsuit against Officer Mac Marquette remains active. Marquette is also charged criminally with murder.
Police said Perkins was shot after the tow truck driver called police as he was trying to repossess Perkins’ truck.
Marquette is considered innocent until proven guilty.
