Repo Dude’s Attempted Murder Case Goes To Grand Jury

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A judge found probable cause in an attempted murder case after a tow truck driver was accused of hitting a man in the head with a metal jack handle.

The repo man, Taylor Douget, is now charged with attempted second-degree murder.

On June 12, Douget was accused of punching a man in the face and hitting him in the head with a metal jack handle after arguing over a repossessed vehicle.

Prosecutors allege Douget became irate, shouted racial slurs at the victim, before hitting him in the head.

According to police, the victim lost consciousness on the scene and was taken to Regional One Hospital.

The victim suffered two broken neck bones and multiple head injuries.

The case is now moving to a grand jury, the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.

Douget’s bond remains set at $250,000.
