Another Machete Attack-Boston Agent Injured
Police arrested a man accused of attacking another man with a machete in Brockton, Massachusetts, during a fight over the repossession of a vehicle.
Brockton police responded to Curve Street shortly before noon on Monday to find a 42-year-old man whose arm was severely lacerated.
The man was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center to be treated, police said. There was no immediate word on his condition.
Authorities determined a man had fled after attacking the victim with a machete “during an altercation over the vehicle’s repossession,” Brockton police said.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Wonder Estiverne of Brockton, fled the area, investigators said. Massachusetts State Police troopers later apprehended him and brought him to be booked at the Brockton Police Department.
Estiverne is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, negligent operation, leaving the scene of property damage, speeding and a marked lanes violation, police said.
It was not immediately clear if Estiverne had an attorney.
The incident is under investigation.
