Armed Carjacking At UAR Lot In Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two people were detained after a repossessed BMW was taken by force during an armed carjacking at the United Auto Recovery lot on Getwell Road Thursday morning, according to Memphis Police.

The victim said he was getting ready to load a gray 2016 BMW 535 on a trailer to transport the vehicle to Georgia when he was ambushed by two men in a gray Mercedes C300.

The victim said one male wearing all black got out of the passenger side of the Mercedes and jumped into the driver’s side of the gray BMW.

The victim said he walked to the driver’s side and told the man to get out of the vehicle, and that’s when the driver of the Mercedes rolled down the window and said, “Let it go, Unc,” while holding a colorful gun in his hand.

Both vehicles fled the scenedriving northbound on Getwell.

Police said that two suspects were detained, but their identities have not been released.
