Father & Son Arrested For Shooting At Agents In New Hampshire

A father and son are facing felony charges after allegedly firing multiple shots at two recovery agents attempting to repossess a vehicle at a residence on Smith Hill Road in Franklin, New Hampshire, early Friday morning, November 6.

According to police, Justin Renfrew, 41, allegedly fired multiple rounds in the direction of the two workers, while his father, James Renfrew, 74, admitted to firing a 9mm handgun into the air after noticing an unfamiliar tow truck behind the residence. The older Renfrew also admitted to pointing a firearm-mounted laser toward the truck.

The recovery agents reportedly captured the encounter on their body cameras. Police later reviewed the footage, which reportedly showed the workers taking cover behind their truck as multiple gunshots were heard. Responding officers also observed a green laser directed toward the tow truck.

Both men were arrested and appeared for video arraignment Friday morning. They remain in custody at the Merrimack County House of Corrections pending a bail determination.
