Florida RO Faces Deportation After Repo Assault

Deputies arrested a Lake County man over the weekend after he allegedly attacked a husband and wife vehicle repossession pair tasked with towing his SUV.

Now, he’s being held on felony battery charges and a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.

The victims — a husband and wife whom WESH 2 is not naming — went to the man’s home around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Documents obtained by WESH 2 state that the man attacked the two while they were in the process of repossessing his Ford SUV.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Enio Da Costa Corgozinho is from Brazil.

“This guy just put his hands on my wife,” the husband said.

“We were repossessing the vehicle, he just assaulted my wife,” he told the 911 dispatcher.

According to incident documents from the night, Corgozinho beat the woman while she was inside the repossessed SUV and it was hooked to a tow truck, being driven by the husband.

He goes back inside after the first attack, but soon returns while the husband is on the phone with the dispatcher.

“He’s attacking my wife! He’s attacking my wife!” the husband said.

“I hear him attacking her,” the dispatcher said. “They’re coming as quickly as they can.”

Inaudible commotion ensues.

The husband can then be heard shouting at the man to “back away” on the 911 call.

The documents state Corgozinho pushed the husband to the ground.

When deputies arrived, Corgozinho was arrested and booked on felony battery charges.

As the woman was giving deputies a statement, she became unconscious and briefly stopped breathing. She had to be taken to a hospital where she was eventually stabilized.

Court records show prior arrests for Corgozinho for driving with a suspended license.

Corgozinho’s next court date is June 16.
