Georgia RO Rams Gate w/Truck, Steals Unit Off Lot
A Villa Rica man who apparently found it hard to let go of his repossessed car has been arrested after he smashed his way into a tow yard and stole the vehicle.
Bertram Leon Moore, 31, is charged with burglary, theft by taking, entering an auto and criminal damage to property.
Moore, who was arrested Tuesday, is being held at the Douglas County Jail without bond.
According to warrants from the Villa Rica Police Department, Moore went to Undertow Recovery on Veterans Memorial Highway at around 1 a.m. on Oct. 13. Police say he entered a Ram 4500 tow truck and drove it through the tow yard’s front gate.
Once inside, Moore stole an Audi Q8 that had been repossessed that same day, according to the warrants.
Police say Moore cause $3,000 in damage to the truck and another $1,500 to the gate.
