Ole Miss Player Arrested For Shooting At Recovery Agent
OXFORD, Miss. —
A University of Mississippi basketball player was arrested in Oxford.
The Oxford Police Department said officers responded about 5 p.m. Friday to the Price Hill park area after someone reported a shooting.
The investigation revealed that a vehicle was being repossessed when 22-year-old Jamarion Demontrez Sharp “fired a gun towards the victim,” according to an OPD news release. No one was injured and Sharp was taken into custody.
Sharp, a senior, joined the Rebels for his last year after transferring from Western Kentucky. During his time on the court in Oxford, the 7-foot, 5-inch forward played in 31 games and led the SEC in blocks.
Sharp is charged with aggravated assault and was given a $100,000 bond by a municipal court judge.
