PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man whose car was being repossessed found himself heading to jail, after he allegedly fled in it as it was being hooked up to a tow truck.

Police say that Chad Edward Conn, 36, of Beaver, had pulled into the Murphy USA gas station in front of Pikeville Walmart. When he got out of the car, the tow truck backed up and hooked up the car to repossess it.

That’s when police say Conn jumped into the car, backed it off of the tow truck and fled, damaging the tow truck in the process.

He was found a short time later, pushing his car along Thompson Road while a female passenger steered it.

Conn reportedly failed a field sobriety test and police found a small amount of meth in the back seat. He was arrested and charged with DUI, fleeing the scene of an accident, wanton endangerment and other charges.
