SC Agent Arrested During Repossession Attempt
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Timmonsville man is facing multiple charges after allegedly trying to run over someone while attempting to repossess a vehicle, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities arrested Ryder Leland Williams, 25, on Sunday and charged him with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, pointing and presenting a firearm and criminal conspiracy. He is being held without bond at the Florence County Detention Center, according to online jail records.
The incident happened on Dec. 22 at a residence on Kingston Drive when the sheriff’s office said Williams and a co-defendant tried to run over the person while attempting to repossess a vehicle. No information about the co-defendant was immediately available from deputies.
During the incident, “Williams is alleged to have brandished and placed his hand on a firearm in an attempt to intimidate the victim,” the sheriff’s office said. The incident remains under investigation.
