SC Agent Arrested For Impersonating Police Officer

OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reports charging a Pickens man with impersonating an officer on Thursday.
Deputies said they responded to Bella Vista Lane for a suspicious person call. Jason Dewayne Whitlock, 42, said he was repossessing a vehicle, but deputies told him that the standard procedure of informing dispatch first with an address did not occur.
Whitlock was driving a white Ford Explorer with bars on the inside, a pit bar on the front, a spotlight on the driver’s side and a large black dog inside, according to deputies.
He also claimed he was an enforcement agent, two other units were on their way and that he was going to take a man and woman to jail for a stolen tag, an arrest warrant said.
Deputies report an investigation revealed Whitlock had a suspended driver’s license.
Whitlock was charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer and driving under suspension. He posted a $3,147 surety bond and was released from jail, deputies said.
