SC Agent PITs Unit, Pulls Firearm, Gets Arrested
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A tow truck driver from Gaston was arrested in North Charleston on Wednesday after he allegedly pulled and gun on someone during a vehicle repossession, according to the North Charleston Police Department.
27-year-old Lydarius Eunique Wise was arrested and charged with assault and battery in the second degree and pointing and presenting a firearm.
The report on the incident states that officers responded to the 5600 block of Dorchester Road and upon arriving on scene, learned that the incident involved Wise who was a repossession agent.
According to police, witness statements and video evidence, Wise struck the victim’s vehicle prior to the repossession attempt in a incident similar to a PIT maneuver. A PIT maneuver is described as a tactic typically used by law enforcement where one vehicle applies lateral force to the rear quarter panel of another vehicle, intentionally forcing the second vehicle, in this case the victims vehicle, into a sudden 180-degree spin.
This attempt conducted by Wise reportedly occurred while he was following the victims vehicle on a public roadway. The report states that the victim continued driving before eventually stopping at a business on Dorchester Road.
Police state that Wise then proceeded to exit his vehicle, approach the victim, and point a firearm at them.
Officers met with Wise and safely secured his firearm before detaining him. Wise was arrested at the scene and transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
