Texas RO Charged Over Armed Agent Assault
Copperas Cove, Tx (FOX 44) – A 54-year-old Copperas Cove man is facing multiple felony charges, and is accused of trying to stop his car from being repossessed with a handgun.
Thomas Delano Jenkins remained in the Coryell County Jail after Copperas Cove Police took him into custody. An arrest affidavit stated that officers were sent to the 1600 block of North Main Street in Cove about 10:34 p.m. Tuesday, when the men on the repossession team called.
The affidavit stated the men were at the apartment complex with a repo order for a black Dodge Charger. They told officers they were in the process of getting the Charger loaded onto the tow truck, when a man pulled up in a Toyota Tundra pickup and blocked them in.
The affidavit stated the men told officers the suspect approached the door of the tow truck, pointed a black firearm at him, and said, “Put my car down, or I will shoot you.” The affidavit stated he then walked to the Charger and pointed the weapon at the repo team member inside and said, “Get out of my car, or I will shoot you.” The men provided video footage of the incident.
Officers later found the Charger and the pickup. Jenkins was taken into custody.
Jenkins was later booked into the Coryell County Jail, charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of hindering a secured creditor. His bond was set at $30,000.
