TN Repo Agency Robbed By RO At Gunpoint
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Two people face a slew of charges after allegedly carjacking a vehicle at a business in Gray on Wednesday.
According to the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), deputies responded to a business on Bob Jobe Road in Gray.
Victims on scene reported to police that Ryan Waye, 39, of Rogersville, and Tesha McDowell, 41, of Newport, made arrangements to pick up personal property from a repossessed vehicle.
McDowell reportedly fled from the scene in the repossessed vehicle at a high rate of speed, almost hitting four people at the business, the WCSO stated.
Waye allegedly threatened the business owner with a firearm and fled the scene in a separate vehicle.
A “Be on the Look Out” Alert (BOLO) was then issued to local agencies. The WCSO stated it used the Flock Camera network to determine where McDowell and Waye were traveling.
Less than an hour after the BOLO was issued, Hawkins County deputies arrested the duo, the sheriff’s office reported.
Waye and McDowell were then taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
McDowell and Waye are charged with the following:
- Aggravated robbery
- Carjacking
- Theft of a motor vehicle
- Aggravated assault (five counts)
- Reckless endangerment (four counts)
McDowell also faces a vandalism charge, according to the WCSO.
Both are being held without bond and are set to appear in court Thursday.
