TN Repossessor Injured When Dragged By Unit
On Wednesday, May 4 Cookeville Towing and Recovery, owner Henry Linde and employee, William Walton were at the Speedway on Genesis Road in Crossville, TN. They were there to repossess a 2006 Nissan Frontier. Upon arrival, they noticed there was a male asleep in the vehicle. Thomas Uchytil woke up and locked the car and refused to exit. Linde stepped in front of the vehicle in an attempt to stop Uchytil from going anywhere. However, Uchytil decided to leave with Walton still having his arm inside the door. He left in a reckless manner and also hit a semi while trying to leave the Speedway. Uchytil proceeded to leave the gas station and head on Genesis Road towards the I40 overpass with Walton still attached to the vehicle and unable to get free. When he was able to escape, Walton was thrown from the car. He suffered multiple abrasions on his body and a dislocated shoulder.
Linde was able to tell authorities where the vehicle was traveling because he had a tracker on the car. Officers found Uchytil and he was placed into custody.
