West Palm Beach Couple Arrested For Shooting During Maserati Repo

Wellington couple Brian and Lori Martin are being held without bond at the Palm Beach County Jail following their alleged involvement in a confrontation with a tow truck driver attempting to repossess their Maserati.

According to court records, the incident began Wednesday at the couple’s home in Wellington, when a tow truck driver arrived to retrieve the vehicle. The driver stated that Brian Martin emerged from the house, shirtless and carrying a firearm, and forced him to drive away with the Maserati. The driver stopped at a community gate to secure the car, at which point, the documents say, Brian returned with Lori in a Mercedes SUV. Brian allegedly fired shots at the tow truck while Lori drove.

The documents say the Martins reportedly chased the tow truck along Lake Worth Road, with Brian allegedly firing additional shots from the passenger seat. The tow truck driver called 911 during the pursuit.

Police stopped the Mercedes and arrested both Brian and Lori Martin. Inside their vehicle, deputies found a semi-automatic handgun and a bullet. In interviews with deputies, the couple admitted they intended to reclaim the Maserati, with Brian acknowledging he fired the weapon to intimidate the driver.

Brian Martin faces charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated assault with a weapon. Lori Martin also faces an attempted second-degree murder charge. Both are scheduled to appear in court again in December.
