8 Years In Prison For Crushing Repo Man’s Legs

A 49-year-old Beaumont, Texas woman was found guilty Thursday of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury after hitting a repo man with her car, crushing his leg.

A Jefferson County jury deliberated for about 30 minutes before convicting Carla Culver.

She broke down in tears as the verdict was read, and Judge John Stevens asked her to compose herself, directing her attorney, Todd LeBlanc, to assist her.

Culver was sentenced to 8 years in prison by the jury. She faced between two and 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
