Truck Shot Agent OK During Miami Repossession
Shots rang out early Thursday after a tow truck driver hooked up a luxury car that was being repossessed and when the gunfire stopped the repo man had somehow escaped the bullets that ripped through his truck.
One of the bullets was later found in the headrest behind the driver’s seat, according to the tow truck driver who declined to be identified out of fear for his safety.
“I felt one go behind my neck, the heat of the bullet,” he said.
When the shooting started, the driver took off, towing the black Mercedes-Benz E350 behind his rig.
The driver, who works for a Miami-Dade-based towing company, was met by Davie police along Southwest 188th Avenue north of Sheridan Street in Southwest Ranches. Investigators combed over the pickup and its shattered rear windshield — marking evidence along the way.
Where the shots were fired and if it had anything to do with the car being repossessed was not immediately known.
No arrests or suspects in the case have been announced.
