Tesla RO Crushes Agent’s Leg Against Truck

ARLINGTON, Wash — A man was arrested after allegedly backing his Tesla into a repossession worker twice outside an Arlington Amazon warehouse, pinning the worker’s leg against a tow truck, according to court documents.

The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on Wednesday for investigation of vehicular assault. He has not been charged.

The worker was taken to a hospital after suffering a cut and bruising around his shin, with a possible fracture, according to the police report.

An officer found him sitting on the tow truck’s towing arm, unable to stand or put weight on the injured leg.

Police said video recorded by another repossession employee showed the Tesla backing into the worker, moving forward a few inches and then backing into him again.

Both employees banged on the back of the car, trying to get the driver to move forward, but it remained in place for an extended period.

The confrontation happened at the Amazon warehouse at 4620 172nd St. NE, where a crew was trying to repossess the Tesla.

The driver told police he knew why the workers were taking his car but wanted to contact his bank the next day. He refused to get out, and the workers began trying to connect the car to the tow truck, according to the affidavit.

Before officers arrived, the driver called 911 to report that the tow truck was blocking him from leaving.

Police initially treated the dispute as a civil matter and did not immediately respond.

He later called again and said he feared for his life. Around the same time, a repossession employee called to report that the driver had intentionally struck his co-worker, according to police.

The officer wrote that the driver’s second call came after the worker had been struck.

Although the tow truck was behind the Tesla, nothing prevented the driver from getting out and walking away, according to court documents.
