State Associations: Maui Disaster Press Release
Disaster Press Release
August 30, 2023
We are all saddened by the tragic wildfires that devastated the Hawaiian Island of Maui last week, leaving more than 100 dead and over a 1000 still missing. According to officials on the ground, property damage is estimated to be over a billion dollars which has left many people without shelter, food, water, and necessary supplies. The devastation is unimaginable, and can be seen by clicking this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94kIfNmh7xE .
Salvatore Lodico, President of the New York Professional Repossessors Association, and owner of Midnight Towing in New York City has sent a call for help to the network of state repossession associations. Sal has a fellow tower, B&B Towing and Recovery on the ground in Hawaii and they are willing to receive clothing and supplies to distribute among the Maui communities. In addition, Kelly McGivern, Chief Compliance Officer of Equitable Services, and a member of the Alliance of Illinois (AIR) also has a team member who is a resident of Maui and has offered to receive and distribute supplies.
Sal has offered to open a UPS commercial account which will provide a large discount on shipping costs.
