Colorado RO Pulls Pistol At PP Pickup
A man is in jail after police say he threatened someone with a gun while trying to reclaim items that had been repossessed.
About 2:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to a call reporting a 69-year-old man and his 39-year-old son Kevin Kelly were making threats about using a gun at a recovery and repo business in the 800 block of 26th Street, according to a news release from Greeley police. As officers arrived, Kelly drove off in his vehicle.
The victim reported Kelly and his father arrived at the business in the back lot to collect items from a repossessed vehicle. The victim told Kelly he still owed $275 in storage fees, upsetting Kelly. The victim said Kelly pulled out the handgun and threatened him.
A felony car stop was initiated in the 2500 block of 10th Avenue Court. Police reported finding a loaded Springfield XDS 9mm in the driver’s door pocket.
Police noted the interaction was recorded on the victim’s cellphone. Kelly was booked into the jail.
