On Hook Unit Taken At Gunpoint In NY
Numerous charges have been filed against a Kenmore man accused of taking back his truck at gunpoint while it was being repossessed, Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge announced.
Zachery Scott, 39, of Shepard Avenue, has been charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and several traffic violations.
According to the report, the gun incident occurred about 1:30 p.m. Monday in the 2600 block of Delaware Avenue, where the owner of a Dodge Ram truck attempted to remove the vehicle from a tow truck as it was being repossessed. When he was unsuccessful, DeGeorge said, the owner pulled a gun and demanded that the repo driver release his truck.
Police found the Ram truck on the street where Scott lives and gave chase when it took off at high speed. During a pursuit that led to the southbound Niagara Thruway and the eastbound Scajaquada Expressway, officers said they saw objects being thrown from the truck near the Grant Street exit. The truck then stopped and Scott was taken into custody.
