PA RO Charged With Terroristic Threats & Assault

CHAMBERSBURG, PA- A man who was having a vehicle repossessed is looking at multiple charges following an incident with tow truck drivers. Trenton Douglas Sims has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats, two misdemeanor counts of simple assault, and a citation for careless driving. He is free and awaiting his preliminary hearing date of May 20th.

Chambersburg PD were called to the 200 block of Cedar Street around 10:30pm on February 15th for a report of threats made against a caller. CPD say that they initially learned that while repossessing a vehicle, a male threatened to get a gun and shoot the caller and his coworker. While responding to that call, Chambersburg PD say that they learned the person who threatened the men chased after them in another vehicle, attempting to run into the repo truck.

Those victims were finally met by police in the 800 block of S Main Street and police learned that Trenton Sims allegedly approached the men and began kicking the vehicle that was being repossessed. One of the victims, CPD say, asked Sims why he was doing that and Sims instead threatened to shoot both of them. Fearing what he may do, the victims loaded up the vehicle and left the area before calling police.

The victims, CPD again say, pulled over in the 400 block of S Main Street to call 911 but while they were on the side of the roadway, Sims pulled up in a vehicle and positioned his vehicle in front of the victims’ trucks. Police say Sims quickly reversed his vehicle and came within feet of striking the victim’s truck before again pulling back onto S Main Street and circling the block. When the victims tried to leave, CPD say that Sims began tailgating them before passing their trucks in a no passing zone.

Another police officer pulled Sims over shortly after the incident, with him saying that he never drove near the victims’ truck. Video, according to CPD, however, shows Sims intentionally parking in front of the victims’ trucks before backing up close to the truck.

Trenton Sims was issued a summons in relation to this incident and remains free awaiting his next court date.
