Agent Shot & Killed In Columbia, SC

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The Richland County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) arrested a man following a deadly shooting that investigators said was the result of a towing company repossessing a car.

The shooting happened Wednesday morning in the 7200 block of Fairmont Road in Columbia.

According to RCSD, a 46-year-old man died following the shooting.

According to a redacted incident report, a deputy responded to the scene and noticed a tow truck with its flashers on and the driver’s door open. The deputy said in the report they noticed the driver’s door was shot several times and found the victim in the car.

The report states deputies walked around the home after the victim was taken to the hospital and found a large amount of 9mm fired cartridge casings in the rear of the residence.

Raheem Deangelo Jackson, 20, was charged with one count of murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. He was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
