MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man is charged after he shot a tow truck driver in the leg (Previous Article) while his car was being repossessed, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Diaquan Williams is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted aggravated robbery, and employment of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.

On May 21, police responded to a shooting at a home on Warren Street.

Officers spoke with a tow truck driver for Dirty South Towing who was repossessing a silver 2007 Lexus RX that was parked on the street in front of the home.

He told police that as he was repossessing the vehicle, a man came out of the home.

The tow truck driver told the man that he had an order of repossession and said the Lexus RX was being repossessed.

The man then responded to the tow truck driver multiple times, saying, “Give me my car,” “Drop my sh** off,” “I got the ups on you,” and “I’m finna pop you” while pointing a silver revolver, according to police.

The man then shot at him multiple times, as the tow truck driver drove off with the Lexus, according to police.

One of the bullets went through the driver’s door of his 2020 Ford F450 and hit him in the right calf.

The tow truck driver identified Williams in a six-person photographic lineup as the person who shot at him, while demanding the Lexus RX back.
