Repossession Killer Gets 24 To Life In Prison
DAYTON, OHIO — A man from South Carolina has been sentenced for a fatal shooting in Dayton.
Demar Cobb, 37, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, received a sentence of 24 years to life in prison, according to a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
Cobb had previously been indicted on charges including murder, felonious assault with a deadly weapon, felonious assault causing serious physical harm, and possessing weapons while under disability.
As previously posted by Repo Buzz, police and medics responded to reports of a shooting on the 2900 block of Lakeridge Court around 1 a.m. in June 2023. They discovered Graylon Russell shot in a parking lot.
Russell was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed that Russell had arrived at the Lakeridge Court apartment to repossess a vehicle when Cobb emerged from a nearby building, confronted him, and shot him multiple times before fleeing.
In a separate trial, Cobb was also found guilty of possessing weapons while under disability.
