SC Repo Agency Owner Charged In Murder Of Woman
Just hours after a body was discovered in a gated community in Greenville County, South Carolina, deputies arrested two individuals in connection with the case, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Jeremy Holt reported that Michael Clarkson, 39, and Cherith Crown, 38, were apprehended Tuesday afternoon in Anderson County.
The arrests are linked to the death of Colleen D’Ortona, 40, whose body was found around 8 a.m. at a residence on Velo Way in Travelers Rest, Holt stated.
Investigators uncovered evidence connecting Clarkson and Crown to D’Ortona’s death. Clarkson was identified as a person of interest due to his domestic relationship with D’Ortona.
Holt explained that the investigation led to a search warrant being executed at a business owned by Clarkson, located at 3216 New Easley Bridge Rd.
News crews were present at the scene of the business, near the intersection of Highway 123 and Fishtrap Road, for most of the day.
When news crews arrived around 1:30 p.m., forensic technicians were observed entering and exiting a trailer belonging to South Carolina Finance Adjusters.
Clarkson initially fled the area but was later apprehended in Anderson County by Greenville County deputies, with assistance from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Holt said.
Clarkson faces charges of murder, while Crown is charged with accessory after the fact of murder and obstruction. Both are being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
Holt indicated that additional charges against Clarkson are anticipated.
