2026 Ford Super Duty Pickups Recalled Over Axle Shaft Failure
Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2026 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 pickups due to potential axle shaft failures.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the right rear axle shaft may have been improperly heat-treated during manufacturing and could break.
The hazards: a broken rear axle shaft can result in a loss of drive power or vehicle rollaway when the vehicle is placed in park. Either of these scenarios can increase the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.
Components: right rear axle shaft
Affected vehicles: select 2026 Ford Super Duty F-250 and F-350 trucks produced between October 2nd, 2025, and November 5th, 2025.
Number of vehicles affected: 6,819
The fix: dealers will inspect the right rear axle shaft date code and replace the axle shaft as necessary, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on January 5th, 2026. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25SD8.
